Local Matters

As the only privately-owned builder in the Midlands with a 70+ year legacy, we believe that local matters! Buying from a local builder means that money stays here and jobs are local, both which impact and enhance the community.

There’s also no hiding behind a large, corporate structure so there’s more accountability and dedication to quality and customer service.

In keeping with Haven Homes’ President Matt Mungo’s belief that “We find that it’s very important to give back to the community and be good to the community that has been good to you,” Haven Hope was established to make a meaningful difference in communities throughout the Midlands of South Carolina.

Through financial support and employee volunteerism, Haven Hope seeks opportunities to strengthen local organizations and support the important work they do. The initiative carries forward the Mungo family’s longstanding tradition of philanthropy and community service—a legacy passed down through generations and continued today under Matt Mungo’s leadership.

Rooted in the Community We Build In

Haven Homes is proud to support local organizations such as Madelyn’s Fund, Soda City Theatre Company, Homeless No More, Irmo Little League, Homeworks of the Midlands, and Camp Cole, to name a few. Many of the Haven team members are involved in the Building Industry Association of Central South Carolina, supporting events that raise money for the association or the BIA Charitable Foundation.

President Matt Mungo is a previous BIA Board member, and Principal Thom Chumney along with CEO Mike Satterfield are past Presidents of the BIA Board of Directors. Chief Marketing Officer Kim O’Quinn is past President of the SMC, a former member of the BIA Board of Directors, and currently serves as President of the BIA Charitable Foundation; while Sales Manager Tyler Webb currently serves on the Board of the Sales & Marketing Council.

Homegrown. Homebuilt. Hometown proud. Local Matters.
