Haven Homes had a clean sweep of all awards at the Building Industry Association Sales & Marketing Council 15th Annual Chili Cook-off! Haven took top honors for Best Booth, People’s Choice for Best Chili, and Best Dang Chili, voted on by a panel of judges in a blind taste test. Principal Thom Chumney did the cooking honors creating “Cowboy Campfire Chili” using his special recipe that features smoked brisket. Some two dozen Haven team members were on hand decked out in their best cowboy attire for their “Wild West Saloon” theme.
Proceeds from the event went to benefit Boys Farm in Newberry, whose mission is “to offer a home exclusively for the purpose of providing a Christian, charitable and educational home, with love, training, understanding and guidance to meet the spiritual and physical needs of boys in need of assistance.”
